I realize that trying to select a photographer for senior photos can be confusing, frustrating, and overwhelming.  I have tried to simplify this process to make it as enjoyable and satisfying as possible.

Here are some common questions/comments that clients have expressed:

* I have no idea where to do a photo session.  Do you have suggestions?"

While some clients have a particular location in mind, most simply desire any outdoor location with a variety of backgrounds.  I have 3 major favorites that offer a wonderful setting:  Kistler Park in Highlands Ranch (appx. Highlands Ranch Parkway and Broadway), Belleview Park in Littleton (on Belleview between Santa Fe and Broadway), and Westlands Park in the DTC area (appx. Orchard and Quebec).

Additionally, session times will be in the early morning and early evening, depending on the time of year.  Usually around an hour or two after sunrise or an hour or two before sunset.  Lighting is the best around these times.

* Can I see samples of photos taken at these 3 locations?

Absolutely!  If you click on my Portfolio and view photos, each image states (at the bottom) where the photo was taken.

* Do you do indoor photos too?

I do not have an indoor studio.  I prefer the lighting and backgrounds that are provided by Mother Nature.  I can, however, bring a background fabric that we can use for a few shots.

* What about the yearbook photo?

I will edit/resize the image of your choice to the specifications and requirements of your high school and e-mail to you.  However, you are responsible for the actual submission and any cost involved.  The process if very self-explanatory and you should have no problem with the submission.  :-)

* Are you an "approved" photographer for a specific high school?

Many high schools provide a list of "approved photographers."  To be on this list, a photographer needs to pay a fairly substantial fee to the high school and agree to follow yearbook guidelines for submitting a photo.  I am not on any "approved" list for 2 reasons:  I want to keep my prices as low as possible (by not spending thousands of dollars to be on several high school's "approved photographer" list) and because I follow the guidelines for photo submission anyway.  :-)

* What should I wear / what colors are best?

Mostly I recommend you wear what makes you feel good, comfortable, and ... well, what you like to wear.  However, I do have a few suggestions:

     - The only color shirt I do not recommend is green (but turquois is good).  The parks/locations are so full of green grass, leaves, and shrubery that adding more green can be overwhelming.
     - Bring your favorite add-ons to add variety!  Hats, scarves, jewelry, and hair accessories add depth and color.
     - Solid color and small-patterned shirts work best.  Shirts with many colors and large patterns can distract from the focal point ... the face.  This is only a guide - if your favorite shirt has bold patterns, then of course wear it.  How you feel during the session will come across in the photos.  The more comfortable you feel, the better.  Take a look around the gallery photos to get some ideas.

* What about payment?

I accept cash, check, or credit cards.  Payment is due at the end of the photo session.  There is an additional $30 fee for any check returned for "insuffcient funds."

* When will I receive my photo CD?

You should receive your CD in about 7-10 days.  If you pay by check, I will not release the CD until the check has cleared, usually about 10-14 days.  If your needs are more urgent, please let me know.

* What if I wear glasses?

If you also have contacts, I recommend wearing contacts instead of glasses.  It can sometimes be tricky with glasses because of reflections.

* What if I have trouble with the CD or don't understand something?

Just let me know!  My service does not end just because I have mailed the photo CD.  I will help you with any questions or concerns you may have.
